Privacy Policy
Alpha Shot ("the game", "we", "us") is a free, browser-based typing shooter playable at alphashot.io. This policy explains what information the game collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By playing Alpha Shot you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
- Anonymous account identifier. When you load the game we create an anonymous account through Firebase Authentication. This gives your browser a random user ID. We do not ask for, or require, your name, email address, or password to play.
- Gameplay data. Your scores, the letters spawned and words you spell during a run, and aggregate progression are sent to our server so we can show high scores and global leaderboards.
- Leaderboard name. If you choose to appear on the public leaderboard, the display name (alias) you enter is stored and shown next to your score. Leaving it blank keeps your scores private.
- Local device storage. Settings (such as volume and control preferences) and your in-game currency and unlocks are saved in your browser's local storage on your device.
Cookies and advertising
Alpha Shot displays ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices.
- For more on how Google uses data when you use our site, see Google's partner-sites policy.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent regarding the use of cookies and data for personalized advertising before such ads are shown. You can manage or revoke your consent preferences at any time by clicking the link below:
Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics (a Google service) to understand how players interact with the game in aggregate — for example, how many rounds are played. This helps us improve gameplay and balance. Analytics data is collected in a way that does not identify you personally.
How we use information
- To run the game, save progress, and operate leaderboards.
- To display advertising that keeps the game free to play.
- To detect abuse and keep leaderboards fair.
- To analyze and improve gameplay.
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Data is processed by the service providers that power the game — Google (Firebase, AdSense, Analytics) — under their respective terms. Your public leaderboard name and score are visible to other players by design.
Children's privacy
Alpha Shot is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will remove it.
Your choices
- Clear your browser's local storage to reset settings and local progress.
- Leave the leaderboard name blank to keep your scores private.
- Use the advertising opt-out links above to limit personalized ads.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
